VDI Certificate
In September 2024, new regulations for vehicle transportation came into effect in Germany as a result of the provisions of VDI Directive 2700 8.1 2024.
Gromex has obtained a certificate confirming compliance with the requirements of the said directive after testing. We have also prepared information for you on the application of the aforementioned regulations on trailers and vehicles equipped with Gromex platforms. Please note that these are only of an auxiliary nature and do not exempt you from the obligation to familiarize yourself with and apply all the regulations arising from the mentioned directive.
According to the directive's regulations, vehicle platforms and the strength of a given manufacturer's platform attachment points are tested using wheel locks and tie-down straps, among other things.
Therefore, the certificate can be issued by the manufacturer, in our case Gromex, only if the following conditions are met:
- perfect technical condition of the surface and attachment points (no visible damage, cracks, deformation of the surface and attachment points)
- having a sufficient number of Gromex wheel locks - the type that has been tested in accordance with the directive
- to have an adequate number of fastening belts with VDI 2700 8.1 certification and appropriate marking both on the belt and on the sleeve (grass). We recommend tested belts purchased from Gromex, but it is possible to use other VDI-certified belts on the belt and sleeve, provided that the technical parameters are identical to those used by Gromex.
